What was the main reason for Henry VIII's split with the Roman Catholic Church?
earnstyle [38]

Henry the 8th, had a lot of wives because none of them would bear him a son, or an heir to the throne. Queen's were allowed to inherit the throne, but he wasn't about to let that happen. He wanted a divorce or annulment of one his marriages, which basically means to say it never happened. Of course, the Roman Catholic Church does not believe in divorce, so they said no. Thus King Henry was like, whatevs I'm the king, and made his own church, The Anglican Church. He also made it the official church of England. That's the reason why he split from the Catholic Church.

Your Vision for Social Change
svetoff [14.1K]
My vision of the future is not a utopia. Especially considering the detrimental events that have gone on in this era, a utopia could be a viable option, but a utopia is really a dystopia in disguise. I want to see a future that continues today’s activism and fully integrates everyone and where anyone can TRULY become what they want to be. And where everyone will be accepted for who they are. Also, when people will REALLY be treated equally and with dignity. A day where police brutality will cease to exist, where racism will disappear, homophobia, xenophobia, and ICE will be a thing of the past. Those days will truly fulfill my dreams and my idea of a future.

How was japan before ww2 started?
leonid [27]

Answer:

U.S. Commodore Matthew Perry opened American trade relations with Japan in 1854. President Theodore Roosevelt brokered a 1905 peace treaty in the Russo-Japanese War that was favorable to Japan. The two signed a Commerce and Navigation Treaty in 1911. Japan had also sided with the U.S., Great Britain, and France during World War I.

During that time, Japan also embarked on forming an empire modeled after the British Empire. Japan made no secret that it wanted economic control of the Asia-Pacific region.

By 1931, however, U.S.-Japanese relations had soured. Japan's civilian government, unable to cope with the strains of the global Great Depression, had given way to a militarist government. The new regime was prepared to strengthen Japan by forcibly annexing areas in the Asia-Pacific. It started with China.
