Marco would like to hang a banner over his shoe store. He has two ladders and would like to know how high above the ground each

ladder will allow him to place the banner. A 13- foot ladder leans against the building and touches it at a point that is 11.3 feet above the ground.
what height would a 15-foot ladder touch the building if both ladders form the same angle with the ground? Make a sketch and round your answer to the nearest tenth

13 divided by 11.3 is 1.150442477876106. So 15 by 1.150442477876106 and you get 13.03846162772485. Just round it to the nearest tenth and you get 13.0.

Timothy has $1111 and Mary has $777. How much money does Timothy need to give Mary, so that they would have the same amount of m
ZanzabumX [31]

Answer:

167

We do 1111+777 for the total and that is 1888

1888/2=944

then 1111-944=167; then they will have equal amounts!!

A professional cyclist is training for the Tour de France. What was his average speed in kilometers per hour if he rode the 194
Lisa [10]
Start with the distance equation D=RT, then plug in numbers

194=R x 4.2, so all we have to do is divide 194 by 4.2.

Answer: 46.19 kph

A parallelogram has sides 10m and 12m and an angle of 45°. Find the distance between the 12m-sides.
stich3 [128]

Answer:

The distance between 12m-sides is 5\sqrt{2}m.

Step-by-step explanation:

It is given that the parallelogram has sides 10m and 12m and an angle of 45°.

Draw an altitude from one 12m side to another 12 m side as shown in below figure.

The opposite angles of parallelogram are same. Two angles are obtuse angles and two are acute angle.

Since angle C is acute angle therefore it must be 45 degree.

\sin\theta=\frac{perpendicular}{hypotenuse}

\sin C=\frac{BE}{BC}

\sin(45^{\circ})=\frac{d}{10}

\frac{1}{\sqrt{2}}=\frac{d}{10}

\frac{10}{\sqrt{2}}=d

\frac{10}{\sqrt{2}}\times \frac{\sqrt{2}}{\sqrt{2}}=d

\frac{10\sqrt{2}}{2}=d

5\sqrt{2}=d

Therefore the distance between 12m-sides is 5\sqrt{2}m.

Find the area of the shaded region in the image below. Write your answer as a simplified polynomial in standard form.
Misha Larkins [42]

Answer:

6x^2+17x+9

Step-by-step explanation:

you have to subtract the area of the white rectangle from the area of the entire rectangle

to find the area of the inner rectangle do (2x-3)*(x+1)=2x^2-3x+2x-3=2x^2-x-3

to find the area of the entire rectangle do (4x+6)*(2x+1)=8x^2+12x+4x+6=8x^2+16x+6

(8x^2+16x+6)-(2x^2-x-3)=8x^2+16x+6-2x^2+x+3=6x^2+17x+9
