Business

Answer/Explanation:

Statistics educators often talk about their desired learning goals for students, and invariably, refer to outcomes such as being statistically literate, thinking statistically, and using good statistical reasoning. Despite the frequent reference to these outcomes and terms, there have been no agreed upon definitions or distinctions. Therefore, the following definitions were proposed by Garfield (2005 and have been elaborated in Garfield and Ben-Zvi (2008).

Statistical literacy is regarded as a key ability expected of citizens in information-laden societies, and is often touted as an expected outcome of schooling and as a necessary component of adults’ numeracy and literacy. Statistical literacy involves understanding and using the basic language and tools of statistics: knowing what basic statistical terms mean, understanding the use of simple statistical symbols, and recognizing and being able to interpret different representations of data (Garfield 1999; Rumsey 2002; Snell 1999)

For common stock

For paid in capital

= $2,000,000 - ($1,000,000 - $30,000)

= $970,000

Which of the following statements regarding changes in accounting principles is not true? Most changes in accounting principles
guajiro [1.7K]

Answer:

Most changes in accounting principles are only reported in current periods when the principle change takes place.

Explanation:

Accounting principle can be defined as a general guideline to be followed by accountants or financial institutions when they record and report their financial transactions.

A change in an accounting principle involves a change in an accounting method used.

For instance, an accountant switching between First In, First Out (FIFO) to Last In, First Out (LIFO) method of inventory valuation or by using another depreciation method.

Additionally, an accounting principle should only be changed, if it's applicable to the accounting framework being used such as Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Also, it is important to state in the footnotes of the financial statements a full disclosure to highlight the justification for the preferred change and financial implications of this change.

The following are true about the change in accounting principles;

1. Most changes in accounting principles are retroactively reported.

2. Changes in accounting principles are allowed when new principles are preferable to old ones.

3. Consistency is one of the biggest concerns when a change in accounting principle is undertaken.

pentagon [3]

Answer:

$75.3 million

Explanation:

Data provided in the question:

Shares outstanding = 3 million

Current price = $15 per share

Value of Bonds = $30 million

Selling price of bonds = 101% of par

Now,

Market Value of the firm = Market Value of shares + Market Value of bonds

or

Market Value of the firm = ( 3 million × $15 ) + ( $30 million × 101% )

or

Market Value of the firm = $ 45 million + $30.3 million

or

Market Value of the firm = $75.3 million
