One of the numbers increased by 10. How did the average of the two numbers change?
bezimeni [28]

Hello from MrBillDoesMath!

Answer:

The average is increased by 5

Discussion:

Let x be one number and y the other number.

Average of x,y =    (1/2) ( x + y)

if, say, x is increased by 10 then the average of the numbers is

( ( x+ 10) + y) /2

= (x+y)/2 + 10/2                  => (x+y)/2 is the average of the original numbers

= (x+y)/2 + 5

So the average is increased by 5

Thank you,

MrB

Answer:

P = 36 inches

A = 81 inches ^2

Step-by-step explanation:

This is a square so all the sides lengths are equal

P = 4s where s is the side length

P = 4*9 = 36 inches

A = s^2 where s is the side length

A = 9^2 = 81 inches ^2
