Answers

1) The coordinates of A' are (4,1).

2) The coordinates of A″ are (11,2).

Solution

1) The ∆ABC rotates an angle A=180° counterclocwise around point D to create ∆A′B′C′

The coordinates of A are (4,9)=(xa,ya)→xa=4, ya=9

The coordinates of A with respect the point of rotation D(4,5)=(xd,yd)→xd=4, yd=5 are (xa-xd, ya-yd)=(4-4,9-5)=(0,4)=(x,y)→x=0, y=4

The coordinates of A'=(x',y') with respect the point of rotation D are:

x'= x cos A - y sin A

x' = 0 cos 180° - 4 sin 180°

x'= 0 (-1) - 4 (0)

x'=0-0

x'=0

y' = y cos A + x sin A

y' = 4 cos 180° + 0 sin 180°

y' = 4 (-1) + 0 (0)

y' = -4+0

y'= -4

(x',y')=(0,-4)

The coordinates of A'=(xa', ya') with respect the origin are:

xa'=x'+xd→xa'=0+4→xa'=4

ya'=y'+yd→ya'=-4+5→ya'=1

The coordinates of A' are (xa',ya')=(4,1)

2) The ∆A′B′C′ rotates an angle B=90° counterclockwise around point E(7, 5) to form triangle ∆A″B″C″

The coordinates of A' are (4,1)=(xa',ya')→xa'=4, ya'=1

The coordinates of A' with respect the point of rotation E(7,5)=(xe,ye)→xe=7, ye=5 are (xa'-xe, ya'-ye)=(4-7,1-5)=(-3,-4)=(x,y)→x=-3, y=-4

The coordinates of A''=(x'',y'') with respect the point of rotation E are:

x''= x cos B - y sin B

x'' = -3 cos 90° - (-4) sin 90°

x''= -3(0) + 4 (1)

x''= -0+4

x''=4

y'' = y cos B + x sin B

y'' = -4 cos 90° + (-3) sin 90°

y'' = -4 (0) - 3 (1)

y'' = -0-3

y''= -3

(x'',y'')=(4,-3)

The coordinates of A''=(xa'', ya'') with respect the origin are:

xa''=x''+xe→xa''=4+7→xa''=11

ya''=y''+ye→ya''=-3+5→ya''=2

The coordinates of A'' are (xa'',ya'')=(11,2)

When y=7.5 x=2 what is the value of y when x is 2 1/4
swat32

Answer:

The value of y is 8.4375

Step-by-step explanation:

Known :

 • y = 7.5
 • x = 2

Asked :

 • The value of y when x is 2.25

Solution :

2/7.5 = 2.25/y

Do a cross multiplication,

2/7.5 = 2.25/y

=> 20/75 = 2.25/y

=> 75 . 2.25 = 20y

=> 168.75 = 20y

Reverse the equation,

168.75 = 20y

=> 20y = 168.75

Find the value of y,

20y = 168.75

=> y = 8.4375

Conclusion :

y = 8.4375

A vehicle arriving at an intersection can turn right, turn left, or continue straight ahead. The experiment consists of observin
Temka [501]

Answer:

a) Sample space (S) = {TR, TL, Cs}

b) Pr(Vehicle Turns) = 2/3.

Step-by-step explanation:

a) By sample space (S) we mean the list all possible outcome of an event. From the illustration in the question, only three (3) outcome is possible:

i) Vehicle Turn Right (TR)

ii) Vehicle Turn Left (TL)

iii) Continue Straight ahead (Cs)

And since the experiment consists of observing the movement of a single vehicle through the intersection, then, the sample space (S) is:

==> {TR, TL, Cs}

b) Since we are assuming that all sample points are equally likely, it imply that they have equal probability of occurring. And by probability:

Pr(TR) = 1/3

Pr(TL) = 1/3

Pr(Cs) = 1/3

Meanwhile, the question wants us to find the probability that the vehicle turns. This means, the vehicle turning either right or left. Thus;

Pr(vehicle turns) = Pr(TR) or Pr(TL) = Pr(TR) + Pr(TL)

Pr(vehicle turns) = (1/3) + (1/3) = 2/3

The astronomical unit (AU) is the mean distance from the sun to the earth.
Mrac [35]
By definition, we have to
1 AU = 1.5 * 10 ^ 8Km
a comet is 2.3 AU from the earth, which means that we must transform this unit to kilometers.
2.3 AU = (2.3) * (1.5 * 10 ^ 8) = 3.45 * 10 ^ 8km

two lines, r and m, are represented by the following equations: line r: 2x 2y = 18 line m: x y = 9 which statement is true about
Masja [62]
Line r is twice line m. i.e. r = 2s which means that they are linearly dependent.

Therefore there are infinitely many solution to the given set of equations.
