Answer:

see below

Step-by-step explanation:

y = 8x − 9

y = 4x − 1

Since both equations are equal to y, we can set them equal to each other

8x-9 = 4x-1

Subtract 4x from each side

8x-4x-9 = 4x-4x-1

4x-9 = -1

Add 9 to each side

4x-9+9 = -1+9

4x = 8

Divide each side by 4

4x/4 = 8/4

x=2

Now find y

y = 4x-1

y = 4(2)-1

y = 8-1

y = 7

(2,7)

The point of intersection when the 2 lines are graphed is (2,7)

Type an equation for the following pattern<br><br> X: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5<br> Y: 1 | 4 | 9 | 16 | 25
Vedmedyk [2.9K]

Answer: y = x²

<u>Explanation:</u>

x    |    y

1     |    1

2    |    4

3    |    9

4    |    16

5    |    25

The x-coordinates increase by 1 unit.  Now, look at the intervals of the y-coordinates:

1 to 4 = 3

4 to 9 = 5

9 to 16 = 7

16 to 25 = 9

Their intervals are not equal so it is not a linear equation (y = x). So, go one more generation and compare the intervals above:

3 to 5 = 2

5 to 7 = 2

7 to 9 = 2

Their intervals are equal so it is a quadratic equation (y = x²).

Note: First generation is a linear equation.

         Second generation is a quadratic equation.

Q = It<br>Charge = current x time<br>tions<br>Define "charge" and give its unit and symbol
erma4kov [3.2K]

The "charge" can be positive i.e carried by proton and negative i.e carried by electron, known as the physical property of matter, which experience force when placed in an electromagnetic field.

The basic characteristic of charge is that the like charges repel each other while opposite charge attract each other. The SI unit of charge is coulomb (C) and symbol to represent charge on any entity is "e". When the number of proton i.e "e+" is equals to number of electron i.e "e-" than a body is said to be neutral.

Help me solve this problem<br><br> 3<br> ------<br> 5+square root 41
sp2606 [1]
Ya want to rationalize the denomenator
if we mutliply the whole thing by (√41)/(√41), we wil still have a √ there messing things up

we need to remember the difference of 2 perfect squares

remember
(a+b)(a-b)=a²-b²

so, we can see the denomenator is 5+√41
multiply the whole fraction by \frac{5-\sqrt{41}}{5-\sqrt{41}}

we get
\frac{3(5-\sqrt{41})}{5^2-(\sqrt{41})^2}=\frac{15-3\sqrt{41}}{25-41}=
\frac{15-3\sqrt{41}}{-16}=\frac{-15+3\sqrt{41}}{16}
