<u>Algebra I</u>

  • Coordinates (x, y)

<u>Algebra II</u>

  • Distance Formula: \displaystyle d = \sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Step 1: Define</u>

Point (-4, -4)

Point (4, 4)

<u>Step 2: Find distance </u><em><u>d</u></em>

Simply plug in the 2 coordinates into the distance formula to find distance <em>d</em>

  1. Substitute in points [Distance Formula]:                                                         \displaystyle d = \sqrt{(4+4)^2+(4+4)^2}
  2. [Distance] [√Radical] (Parenthesis) Add:                                                         \displaystyle d = \sqrt{(8)^2+(8)^2}
  3. [Distance] [√Radical] Evaluate exponents:                                                     \displaystyle d = \sqrt{64+64}
  4. [Distance] [√Radical] Add:                                                                               \displaystyle d = \sqrt{128}
  5. [Distance] [√Radical] Simplify:                                                                        \displaystyle d = 8\sqrt{2}

Can someone please answer this for me.
Vlada [557]
Graphing an inequality is when you shade in the graph based on whether your point that you chose(usually (0, 0))  is true or false when put back in the original equation.

Graphing an equation of a line is just a line on the graph.

For a solid line: the inequality should be greater then or equal to or less then or equal to.

For a dashed line: the inequality should just be greater then or less than.

Hope this helps for your inequality equations :)
