There are times when democracy does not meet the
expectations of the people. Sadly there
are times when it fails the people who believe in it. This is when corrupt officials abuse their
position in government and implement policies that limit democracy and the
rights of the people. When services intended for the people are not available
that is another example. The worst
instance is when there is no justice in the system as the guilty goes free and
the innocent gets blamed.
The painting called Guernica, which portrayed the suffering of animals and people was painted by the famous artist, <u>Picasso</u>.

Guernica is a painting by Picasso which is named after the town of the same name in Spain.
Picasso draw this to highlight the fact that Nazi German bombed the town of Guernica during the Spanish Civil War, and killed many civilians who were not involved in the war.
The painting, like Picasso's other work, featured figures such as animals and people who were drawn in a blocky and unrealistic manner.
