The Hippocampus played a really crucial role in consolidating information from our recent memory to our long-term memory (The more often we got exposed to that information, the more likely it will be transferred to the long-term memory)
On top of that, Hippocampus also determine how well a person could use his/her spatial memory and how fast they could understand a conceptual information.
