Originally, these ideas from Machiavelli were dedicated to Lorenzo de Medici. They are a series of rules and recommendations about cruel leadership and how to rule a government. However, changing the perspective, some of these ideas can serve to teach some interesting lessons to modern-day leaders.

Machiavelli explains some ideas and techniques on how the Prince can increase its power and exert control through fear and lack of compassion. His book, "The Prince" became one of the "must-read" for politicians around the world.
