Use the following information to complete parts I, II, and III. 1 hour=3600 seconds
icang [17]

Answer:

I) There are 8.760\times 10^3 hours in 1 year.

II) The exact number of hours in one year is 8.76582\times 10^3 hours.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : 1 hour=3600 seconds

1 year = 31556952 seconds.

To find :

I)  Use scientific notation to estimate the number of hours in one year.

1 day = 24 hours

1 year = 365 days

So, number of hours in one year is given by,

n=24\times 365

n=8760

In scientific notation,

8760=8.760\times 10^3

So, there are 8.760\times 10^3 hours in 1 year.

II) 1 year = 31556952 seconds.

1 hour = 3600 seconds

In one year the number of hour is given by,

n=\frac{31556952}{3600}

n=8765.82

In scientific notation,

8765.82=8.76582\times 10^3

So, the exact number of hours in one year is 8.76582\times 10^3 hours.

III) In two or more complete sentences, compare your answers to parts I and II. In your comparison, discuss similarities and differences.

  • The exact numbers of hours using 365 days is 8760 which is written as 8.760\times 10^3 in scientific notation but using the given data we get 8.76582\times 10^3 hours.
  • Comparing these answers the first one has only 3 significant figures and the second answer has six significant figures.
  • If we round these we get 8.8\times 10^3 hours which has two significant numbers.

Find the value of p for which x = -2, y = -1 is a solution of linear equation 5x + 2py = 2p.
Rom4ik [11]
I think p=4
How I solved it:
5(-2)+2p+2(-1)=2p
-10+2p+-2=2p So cross out last
-2p -2p 2p:)
= -10+2p+-2
+10 +10 Cross out the 10
= 2p=8
= divide both sides by 2p
= 2p/2= 8/2
= cross out the 2.
= which leaves
= p=4 we get 4 because we divide 8 to 2:)

I don’t know if I’m right but yea...

Which defines a circle a. Two days with a common endpoint b. A piece of a line with two endpoints c. A piece of a line with one
nordsb [41]

Answer:

The correct answer is d.

Step-by-step explanation:

Any point that is co planar with one another and is also equidistant from a given point is a circle. We need it to be co planar, otherwise it would be 3-dimensional and create a sphere. And if they we not all equidistant, they would not make an even circle (it'd be an oval or another shape).
