Name 4 ways the hydrosphere (water) interacts with the geosphere (land).

Geography
1 answer:
leva [86]2 years ago

Answer:

Water from rivers erodes the banks, the ice breaks up rocks, intense rainfall causes mass wasting, water from rainfall flows as runoff and creates ripples.

Explanation:

Earth has several spheres, all of which have their own unique characteristics that define them as such. Despite all of them being very different from each other, they can not exist in the form they are if there is no interaction with the other spheres, thus all of the spheres are interconnected and they depend on one another.

Two of those hydrospheres are the hydrosphere and geosphere, and they interact in many different ways. When there is rainfall, the water that ends on land flows as runoff until it reaches a water body, and while it does so it manages to create ripples in the ground. If there is intense rainfall in an area where there is steep and unstable terrain, it can easily cause mass wasting by oversaturating the soil with water. The water that flows in the rivers with its power is constantly eroding the banks. If water freezes and turns to ice because its volume becomes greater, it is able to break up rocks with the pressure it creates on them.

salantis [7]

The question is incomplete. The complete question is The Hawaiian Islands are composed of linear chains of which of these types of volcano?

A. Cinder cones B. Shield volcanoes C. Stratovolcanoes D. Lava domes

Rock Types 5. What is the difference between the two types of igneous rocks? A. The ages of the rocks. Intrusive rocks are always older

B. Extrusive rocks were formed in water, intrusive rocks were not

C. Intrusive rocks were formed in water, extrusive rocks were not

D. Intrusive rocks were formed in the Earth, extrusive rocks were not

Answer:

The answer to the first question is B (shield volcanoes) and the answer to the second question is D (Intrusive rocks were formed in the earth, extrusive rocks were not).

Explanation:

4) A shield volcano is a type of volcano in which the molten magma (lava) has low viscosity-this means they move easily. A shield volcano can be characterized by shallow sloping sides i.e. the slope are not steep. The most notable of the volcano chain in the Hawaiian island is the Kilauea mountain because it is the most active of them all and has an height of 1247 meters.

5) The differences between intrusive igneous rock and extrusive igneous rock includes cooling time, rock formation, mineral proportions and crystal size and texture. Intrusive rocks are formed beneath the earth surface, they have bigger crystals, takes a long time to solidify and has a coarse texture while extrusive rocks solidifies within a shorter period compared to the intrusive rock, has a fine texture and is formed on the surface of the earth.

A shield volcano is a wide volcano with shallowly-sloping sides. Shield volcanoes are formed by lava flows of low viscosity - lava that flows easily. ... The largest is Mauna Loa on the Big Island of Hawaii; all the volcanoes in the Hawaiian Islands are shield volcanoes.

If you were a hydrologist and you happen to take charge of the in
Stels [109]

We can actually infer here that as a hydrologist who happen to be in charge of the inspection of the Laguna de Bay and Manila Bay, the water distribution on these areas in terms of freshwater and salt-water can be quantified according to their degree of salinity. Laguna de Bay is a fresh water lake whose degree of salinity is lower than that of the Manila Bay.

What is Laguna de Bay?

The Laguna de Bay is actually known as the third largest inland body of water. It is located in Southeast Asia. It is found in the heart of Luzon Island.

The Manila Bay is known as the natural harbor which is known to serve the Port of Manila (on Luzon). It is located in the Philippines; the capital city of the Philippines.
