Spain was for a long time in control of the lands of Texas, this territory had a big population that spoke Spanish (even to this day) and that carried a lot of traditions and customs from Spain. Musical instruments that are common in Spain became widely used in Texas and Mexico, like the guitar. The names of some places and some words used commonly and in artistic creations are a heritage from Spain, for example San Antonio. And of course, Spanish architecture can be found all over Texas.
