In 1898, the United States assisted in war to protect its citizens and businesses in Cuba. This war was known as the Spanish-American War. The United States declared war on Spain after the U.S. warship, the Maine, exploded and sank on February 15, 1898 while visiting Havana, Cuba.

How were serfs different from enslaved persons??
zalisa [80]
Serfs may eventually work their way to freedom (usually not), if you know the term tenant farmers, individuals who work on a property with some believe that eventually they may pay their debts off and become a freeman. An enslaved person, will never believe that they will eventually become free.

-My opinion anyway (probably wrong) but worth a try.
