What happens to the O2 levels during the light and dark?

Chemistry

Answer: Hello, This might help. Unidirectional O2 fluxes were measured with 18O2 in a whole plant of wheat cultivated in a controlled environment. At 2 or 21% O2, O2 uptake was maximum at 60 microliters per liter CO2. At lower CO2 concentrations, it was strongly inhibited, as was photosynthetic O2 evolution. At 2% O2, there remained a substantial O2 uptake, even at high CO2 level; the O2 evolution was inhibited at CO2 concentrations under 330 microliters per liter. The O2 uptake increased linearly with light intensity, starting from the level of dark respiration. No saturation was observed at high light intensities. No significant change in the gas-exchange patterns occurred during a long period of the plant life. An adaptation to low light intensities was observed after 3 hours illumination. These results are interpreted in relation to the functioning of the photosynthetic apparatus and point to a regulation by the electron acceptors and a specific action of CO2. The behavior of the O2 uptake and the study of the CO2 compensation point seem to indicate the persistence of mitochondrial respiration during photosynthesis.

What is the minimum volume of 5.50 M HCl necessary to neutralize completely the hydroxide in 718.0 mL of 0.183 M NaOH
Deffense [45]

The volume of HCl required is 23.89 mL

Calculation of volume:

The reaction:

HCl + NaOH \rightarrow NaCl + H_2O

As HCl and NaOH react in 1 : 1 ratio.

Volume of NaOH= 718 mL

Concentration= 0.183M

Volume of HCl= ?

Concentration= 5.50M

Using the dilution formula:

M_1\times V_1(NaOH)= M_2\times V_2(HCl)

0.183\times 718= 5.50 \times V_2\\V_2=\frac{131.394}{5.50} \\V_2 = 23.89 \,mL

Therefore,

Volume of HCl required will be 23.89 mL.

What makes alkali metals a family?
navik [9.2K]

Answer:

The metals in this group are lithium, sodium, potassium, rubidium, cesium, and francium. The gas hydrogen is also put in this group because it shares similar reactivity with the alkali metals.

An element from the periodic table is shown below. What can you determine about the number of protons, neutrons, and electrons o
Musya8 [376]

Answer:

They are all the same = 8

Explanation:

Since the symbol of that atom is not give, we can infer from the given number the nature and kind of element we are dealing with.

The number 15.999 rounded up to 16 is the atomic weight of the atom also called the mass number.

Although not peculiar enough, we are certain that this atom is Oxygen.

 On the periodic table, elements are arranged based on their atomic numbers.

    Atomic number of oxygen = 8 = number of protons

For every neutral atom on the periodic table, the number of protons and electrons are the same

Atomic number of oxygen = number of protons = number of electrons = 8

 Number of neutrons = Mass number - atomic number = 16 - 8 = 8
