Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

a) Area of white square = side *side = 8 * 8 = 64 sq.mm

Area of 4 white square = 4 * 64 = 256 sq.mm

 compound shape

length = 3 cm = 30 mm

Width = 2 cm = 20 mm

Area of compound shape = length *width = 30 * 20 = 600 sq.mm

Area of the shaded part of the compound shape =

                        Area of compound shape - Area of 4 white square

= 600 - 256

= 344 sq.mm

b) Perimeter of compound shape = 2*(length + width)

     = 2*(30 +20)

      = 2* 50

      = 100 mm

For the function f(x) = x2  -12, find (f o f-1)(4) A. 0 B. 4 C. 10 D. 6
slega [8]

We actually don't need to do any computation. By definition, the inverse function f^{-1} changes the role of input and output. So, if a function f maps x onto y, the inverse function maps y onto x.

You have to think like this: if the function makes a step further, the inverse function makes that same step back.

This means that the composition f \circ f^{-1} is always the identity function f(x) = x. In fact,

(f\circ f^{-1})(x) = f(f^{-1}(x)) = x

So, for every function, you have

(f\circ f^{-1})(4) = f(f^{-1}(4)) = 4

Carmen wants to join a gym. Gym A costs $26.76 plus an additional $4 for each visit. Gym B has no initial fee but costs $12.92 f
joja [24]

Answer:

After 3 visits both plans will cost the same.

Step-by-step explanation:

Gym A costs $26.76 plus an additional $4 for each visit.

Gym B has no initial fee but costs $12.92 for each visist.

The cost for gym A can be written as

C= $26.76 + 4(x)  where x is the number of visits to the gym A

The cost for gym B can be written as

C= $12.92 (x)  where x is the number of visits to the gym B

Both costs will be equal

12.92x= 26.76 +4x

12.92x-4x= 26.76

8.92x= 26.76

x= 26.76/8.92

x= 3

after 3 visits both plans will cost the same.

Check

12.92x= 26.76 +4x

12.92*3= 26.76 +12

38.76= 38.76
