The simplified answer to the equation is y=-\frac{1}{3}x+4

First, subtract \frac{1}{3}x  on both sides.

y=-\frac{1}{3}x+4

You have isolated y by itself, and the equation can't be simplified further, so y=-\frac{1}{3}x+4  is your answer.
