One day his peaceful life is threatened by the evil tiger, named Shere Khan (voiced by George Sanders). Mowgli must leave his wolf family behind in order to return to the "man village." Throughout his quest he is not alone, aided by a panther named Bagheera, and later on, a carefree bear named Balloo, he traverses the jungle's many perils.
