Total quantity of solution containing alcohol and water = 60 liters
Amount of alcohol in the solution = 20 liters
Percentage of alcohol in the solution = (20/60) * 100
                                                           = 100/3
                                                           = 33.33 percent
So
33.33 percent alcohol is = 20 liters
Then
50 percent alcohol = [20/(100/3)] * 50
                               = [(20 * 3)/100] * 50
                               = (60 * 50)/100
                               = 3000/100
                               = 30 liters
So 30 liters of alcohol should be added to make the percentage of alcohol 50% in the solution.

x2y - 2xy - 24y = y(x2 - 2x - 24) What is the completely factored form of x2y – 2xy – 24y? (xy + 4)(x – 6) xy(x + 4)(x – 6) y(x
likoan [24]

we are given

x^2y-2xy-24y=y(x^2-2x-24)

now, we can factor out right side term

x^2-2x-24=x^2-6x+4x-6*4

x^2-2x-24=(x-6)(x+4)

now, we can plug back

and we get

so,

x^2y-2xy-24y=y(x-6)(x+4).............Answer

What is the molar solubility of magnesium fluoride in a solution that is 0.40 m f− ions? the ksp of mgf2 is 6.4 × 10−9. hints wh
velikii [3]
Answer: MgF2 ====⇒ Mg+2 + 2F- Ksp = [Mg+2][F-]^2 Let S = molar solubility of MgF2 [Mg+2] = S ; [F-] = 2s Since the [F-] is initially 0.40 M, then [F-] = 0.40 + 2S 6.4 x 10^-9 = (S) (0.40 + 2S)^2 ; one can neglect the 2S in the 0.40 + 2S expression since it is very, very small compared to the 0.40 already present. 6.4 x 10^-9 = S(0.40)^2 S = 4.0 x 10^-8 Molar solubility = 4.0 x 10^-8
