Answer:

is the firm's marginal cost curve above the minimum point on the AVC curve.

Explanation:

In a perfect competition, there are many buyers and sellers of homogeneous products, and there is free entry and exit in the market.

This simply means that, in a perfectly competitive market, there are many buyers and sellers (price takers) of homogeneous products (standardized products with substitute) and the market is free (practically open) to all individuals or business entities that are willing to trade all their goods and services.

Generally, a perfectly competitive market is characterized by the following features;

1. Perfect information.

2. No barriers, it is typically free.

3. Equilibrium price and quantity.

4. Many buyers and sellers.

5. Homogeneous products.

Examples of a perfectly competitive market are the Agricultural sector, e-commerce and the foreign exchange market.

In Economics, there are primarily two (2) factors which affect the availability and the price at which goods and services are sold or provided, these are demand and supply.

The law of supply states that the higher the price of goods and services, the lower the supply.

An aggregate supply curve gives the relationship between the aggregate price level for goods or services and the quantity of aggregate output supplied in an economy at a specific period of time.

Aggregate supply (AS) refers to the total quantity of output (goods and services) that firms are willing to produce and sell at a given price in an economy at a particular period of time.

Hence, a perfectly competitive firm's supply curve is the firm's marginal cost (MC) curve above the minimum point on the average variable cost (AVC) curve.

Answer:

The break even point in monthly dollar sales is closest to: $566,100 (or 3,330 units at a price of $170)

Explanation:

Hi, first let´s introduce the break-even point equation:

BEP(units)=\frac{Fixed Expenses}{Price-VariableCost} =[Units]

BEP(Dollars)=BEP(Units)*Price

Therefore, let´s find the BEP in units first

BEP(units)=\frac{356,643}{170-62.90} =3,330

So, the break even point in units is 3,330, let´s find the BEP($)

BEP(Dollars)=3,330*170=566,100

The break-even in monthly dollar sales is $566,100

Best of luck.

The consumer price Index measures the overall change in patron charges primarily based on a representative basket of goods and offerings through the years. The CPI is the maximum widely used measure of inflation, closely followed by means of policymakers, financial markets, organizations, and purchasers.

The operators of adult bookstores got together and each agreed to contribute $1,000 to a fund for use in lobbying the city counc
san4es73 [151]

Answer:

The operators have not violated the antitrust laws because they are only collaborating to lobby the government

Explanation:

The antitrust law in the U.S. can be described as a group of federal and state government laws enacted to regulate the activities of business firms in order to enhance competition to the advantage of consumers.

The antitrust law aims to collusive activities that suppress trade, any merger and acquisition that would reduce competition, and prevent the the abuse of monopoly power.

Since the activity of the operators of adult bookstores does not fall under what the antitrust law aims to prevent but it is just a collaboration to lobby the government, they have a good defense that they have not violated the antitrust laws.

ruslelena [56]

Answer:

The correct answer is option B.

Explanation:

The total revenue and profits of the industry as the price level  increases with increase in the demand.

When there is an increase in the demand for the output of an industry, that industry will increase the production to match the increase in the demand. The increase in production will cause output level to increase.

In order to produce more output the industry will require more inputs, so the demand for inputs will increase.

An increase in the demand for inputs will be accompanied by increase in their prices.

There will not be any decline in the price of inputs.
