On the left side of the equation, you have like terms : 2x and 4x
That means that you can combine them

2x+4x=3x+1

6x=3x+1

Now, since the 3x is on the other side of the equation, you have to perform the opposite operation by subtracting 3x on both sides of the equation:

The 3x's will cross out on the right side of the equation

3x-3x=0x=0

On the left side:

6x-3x=3x

SO, now the equation looks like:

3x=1

Now, to get x by itself, perform the opposite operation by dividing 3 on both sides of the equation:

The 3's will cross out on the left:

3x ÷ 3 = 1x = x

On the right:

1 ÷ 3 = 1/3

x=1/3

Lelechka [254]

Answer:

B

Step-by-step explanation:

How did it go from "rope" to "ribbon", therefore, the statement is incorrect. This is a man-made equation that clearly has a mistake. If it was to say, "Will Scott have enough rope?" then the answer will be "YES"

Bruno uses a piece of wrapping paper with dimensions 1 and one-fourth feet by 3 feet to wrap a gift. What is the total area of t
8_murik_8 [283]

The area of the paper used to wrap the gift is 3 3/4 square feet

How to determine the total area?

The dimension is given as:

1 1/4 by 3

The area is the product of the dimensions.

So, we have

Area = 1 1/4 * 3

Express as an improper fraction

Area = 5/4 * 3

Evaluate

Area = 15/4

Rewrite as:

Area = 3 3/4

Hence, the area of the paper used to wrap the gift is 3 3/4 square feet

vfiekz [6]
Sides are x,x,b

x is identical side

x is bigger than 3 times b by 2
x=3b+2

p=x+x+b
60=2x+b

x=3b+2
60=2(3b+2)+b
60=6b+4+b
60=7b+4
minus 4 both sides
56=7b
divide both sides by 7
8=b

sub back
x=3b+2
x=3(8)+2
x=24+2
x=26
