Maia's coach employ Yerkes-Dodson law. Yerkes-Dodson law implies a relationship between strength of motive for learning and success in learning. According to Yerkes-Dodson law, the results of learning are weak if motivation for learning is lower-how motivation grows, success in learning increases, but only to one optimal point. After that point, if motivation increasing more-that can lead to less successful learning.

Explanation: Since Jamal's brother was not listening to what he was saying and can still easily recap some of what he said for the last few seconds he is using his echoic memory to recollect those information.

Echoic memory is a type of sensory memory used by the auditory system. Echoic memory can store a large amount of auditory information, but only for few seconds (3 - 4 seconds).
