Since, the number w and 0.8 are additive inverses.

A number 'a' is said to have an additive inverse '-a' if "a+ (-a)= 0".

Since, 'w' and '0.8' are additive inverses of each other such that w + 0.8 = 0

Therefore, the value of 'w' should be '-0.8' so that -0.8 + 0.8 = 0.

So, the value of 'w' is =0.8

Now, Refer to the attached image which represents the position of 0.8 , w ( that is -0.8) and the sum of 0.8 and w.

Sum of 0.8 and w = 0.8 + w

= 0.8 +(-0.8)

= 0.

Hi, can someone help please? Thanks! Calculate the correlation coefficient of the following data
Oksanka [162]

Answer:

Option C is correct

Correlation coefficient of the following data is 0.37

Step-by-step explanation:

Correlation coefficient formula :

r = Σ [(x - x_{m}) × (y - y_{m})] ÷ √ [Σ (x - x_{m})^{2} × Σ (y - y_{m}) ^{2}]

x =  Data points in Data set x

y =  Data points in Data set y

x_{m}= Mean of Data set x

y_{m}= Mean of Data set y

Now put all the values and sumation it as of given in the formula

Mean of Data set x = (1+4+8+6+2)÷5 = 21÷5 = 4.2

Mean of Data set y = (16+20+15+22+9)÷5 = 82÷5 = 16.4

Now put the values in the equation

r = Σ [(x - 4.2) × (y - 16.4)] ÷ √ [Σ (x - 4.2)^{2} × Σ (y - 16.4) ^{2}]

Now put every single value of x and y and after we will get the required Correlation coefficient.

And that is Correlation coefficient of the following data is 0.37
