The Spanish/Mexicans used to own the southwest region of the present-day United States and present-day Mexico. The Americans, however, dreamed of having the United States stretch from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean (the United States used to be only the states in the ease). In order to achieve that dream, the Americans had to get hold of the southwest region. Then the war began....

If you want to know how the war ended....The Americans and Spanish/Mexican signed a treaty. After that treaty was signed, the Americans received the southwest region and the Spanish/Mexicans only kept Mexico.

So.. the six events are:
1) Spanish/Mexicans own southwest region of the present-day US.
2) Americans dream of having United States stretch from ocean to ocean.
3) Americans' dream grows stronger and more desperate.
4) Spanish/Mexicans refuse to hand over land.
5) Americans grow angry.
6) The war begins.......

Sorry for some of the unneeded information, but I hope this helps. ^^Source(s):my history book helped

Why were the Intolerable Acts so Inflammatory among the colonists?
Marizza181 [45]

Answer:

D

Explanation:

The Intolerable Acts of 1774 was an attempt by the British Crown to use punitive measures against the American Colonists to exert authority over them following a series of insurrectionist incidents sparked by the Boston Tea Party of 1773. The Acts passed by Parliament included: - closing the Boston Harbor to commerce until full restitution was made to the owners. - Canceling the Colony's charter making it a crown colony and imposing martial law under General Thomas Gage. - Provide immunity from local colonial prosecution for Crown officials and allowed the to go on trial in neighboring colonies or England. - Gave Crown Governors the right to requisition buildings to quarter British troops sent to intimidate the colonials. The intolerable acts were the proverbial straw that broke the camels back. These oppressive measures were the excuse needed by the colonists to convene the First Continental Congress in 1774.

noname [10]

Answer:

• Certainly the growing military and political power of Western states after the Industrial Revolution and their determination to gain influence in each society provided a larger historical development that shaped responses.

• However, internal problems shaped individual responses.

• For instance, the weakened imperial state in China and the social problems that led to serious peasant revolts like the Taiping Uprising speak to the internal problems that shaped the response of China.

• The loss of territories, the weakening of the central state, the increasing obsolescence of the army, the increasing indebtedness of the state, the decline of its centrality in Eurasian trade, and commercial competition from industrial Europe were internal problems that shaped the Ottoman Empire's response.

• Corruption within the Tokugawa regime, social change, and a mounting wave of local peasant uprisings and urban riots all shaped Japan's response to demands by the West.
