Okay so you're going to want to find the m value of the slope-intercept form, which is the slope. In order to find that you need to label your first set of coordinates! Since we know that the 6 represents the X and the 8 represents the Y, those are your X(subscript 1) and your Y(subscript 1). Now you need to do the same for the second set of coordinates, labeling the 3 as X(subscript 2) and your -9 as Y(subscript 2).

After that, set them up like this:

m=y(subscript 2) - y(subscript 1) / X(subscript 2) - X(subscript 1)

After you get that solution, give yourself a pat on the back because you now have your M!

The rest is simply plugging in!

This next formula is where you find your formula:

( y(subscript 2) - y(subscript 1) ) = m( X(subscript 2) - X(subscript 1)

Then solve as you would!

Answer:

"landing on a shaded portion and landing on a 3"

"landing on an unshaded portion and landing on a number less than 2 "

Step-by-step explanation:

Mutually exclusive means the events will have no intersection.

Let's look at your first choice:

"landing on a shaded portion and landing on an even number"

Landing on a shaded portion would be 1 or 4.

Landing on an even number would be 2 or 4.

There is an intersection (they contain a common element), the 4.

These events are not mutually exclusive.

Let's look at your second choice:

"landing on a shaded portion and landing on a number greater than 3"

Landing on a shaded portion would be 1 or 4.

Landing on a number greater than 3 would be just 4.

There is an intersection; they both contain 4.

These events are not mutually exclusive.

Let's look at your third choice:

"landing on a shaded portion and landing on a 3"

Landing on a shaded portion would be 1 or 4.

Landing on 3 would just be 3.

There is no common elements in the lists listed. These events have no intersection.

These events are mutually exclusive.

Let's look at your fourth choice:

"landing on an unshaded portion and landing on an odd number"

Landing on a unshaded portion would be 2 or 3.

Landing on an odd number would be 1 or 3.

There is an intersection; they both have 3 in common.

These events are not mutually exclusive.

Let's look at your fifth choice:

"landing on an unshaded portion and landing on a number less than 2 "

Landing on an unshaded portion would 2 or 3.

Landing on a number less than 2 would be 1.

There is no intersection.

These events are mutually exclusive.

Let sets A and B be defined as follows.
erica [24]

There are 4 elements in the set A and 8 elements in set B that is n(A) = 4 and n(B) = 8

Cardinality of a set

This is the total number of elements in a set. Given the following sets;

A = {c, d, e, f}

B = {odd numbers greater than 5 and less than 23}

B = {7,9,11,13, 15, 17, 19, 21}

Since there are 4 elements in the set A and 8 elements in set B hence n(A) = 4 and n(B) = 8

Stells [14]

Answer:

5 1/4

Step-by-step explanation:

To solve this problem, here are the steps:

1. Since you're converting a mixed number into a fraction, your initial equation becomes: -9/4 x -7/3.

2. Apply the fractions formula for multipication by multiplying: -9 x -7 and 4 x 3 which is equivalent to 61/12.

3. And lastly, by simplifying 61/12 you get 5 1/4.

Hope this helped!
