5 0

Step-by-step explanation:

Equation :-

→ x² - 6x -5=0

On comparing it to standard form ax² + bx + c = 0

 • a = 1
 • b = -6
 • c = -5

→ x = -b ± √b² - 4ac / 2a

→ x = 6 ± √ 36 - (-20) / 2

→ x = 6 ± √ 56 /2

→ x = 6 ± 2√14/2

→ x = 3 ± √14

If 7(x+5) = -28 find the value of 6x
elixir [45]
Answer:

-54

Explanation:

First we need to use the distributive property on 7(x+5), so do 7×x + 7×5. Simplify that and you get 7x+35.

Subtract 35 from both sides and you get 7x= -63. Divide both sides by 7 and you get x= -9.

Now we can substitute -9 for x, so do 6×-9 and you get -54.

Hope this helps :)

Divide 2y2 + 8 by 2y + 4. Which expression represents the quotient and remainder?
Anastasy [175]
2y² + 8 ÷ 2y + 4 = (y - 2) (\frac{16}{2y+4})

Thus the quotient is y-2 and the remainder is 16.

What is the distance between R(1, -6) and S(10, 3)?
Round to the nearest tenth.
lozanna [386]

The distance formula for 2 points = √((x2-x1)^2 + (y2-y1)^2)

use R for x1 and y1 and use S for x2 and y2.

Distance = √((10- 1)^2 + (3-(-6))^2)

Distance = √(9^2 + 9^2)

Distance = √(81 + 81)

Distance = √162

Distance = 9√2

Distance = 12.7 ( Rounded to nearest tenth)
