1. You are being chased through a heavily wooded forest. You are not quite sure who or what is chasing you, but you know that be

ing caught means certain death. The pursuer is still a distance away. You are on an island; cliffs surround the forest and the ocean lies 20 feet below. The sea is rough and jagged rocks protrude from the surface of the water. It is the middle of the night and pitch black. You estimate you have about ten minutes until you are captured. Which strategy do you employ in order to try to stay alive? (Circle your choice)
a. Try to hide your tracks and climb a tree to wait it out; you just hope that your pursuer does not look up.
b. Set a trap for your pursuer and hide. Dig a hole and scatter weeds and branches over the top and lead the pursuer to the trap with your tracks.
c. Jump off the cliff in order to escape the island; you just hope you don’t hit the rocks below.
Explain your choice:
2. In the story you are about to read, one of the characters states the following: “The world is made up of two classes – the hunters and the huntees.” Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Why or why not?

Answer:

B is the only reasonable option heres my opinion.

A is hopeful, you have a chance to survive but also not. and how are you gonna get down without making noise?

B is a chance to run away fast as you can, far as you can, as making such noise as you can but you have to think fast, a hole is easy to escape out of and you need atleast a 10 feet hole.

Pros and cons of both answers.

1-Pros

not much time needed to do

doesnt make alot of noise.

Cons-

can just look up and see you.

easy way to get found

2.Pros

easier chance of escaping alive

The pitch black-ness assists with the trap.

you can also hide near a tree or in some bushes.

Cons-

time consuming-makes alot of noise.

can step on you, (if laying down).

I'd prefer B but whatever floats your boat.

Answer:

simile

Explanation:

The sentence above presents a simile as a figurative language. The simile is characterized by comparing two different elements that have no relation to each other, but that express something that can be related. In the sentence above, we can see that the poet compared the ability to "last forever" with "fairytale monsters". This comparison was made between two different elements, as the simile approaches.
