Why do you think Riordan has Grover be one of the allies of Percy on this quest? What does Grover's character bring to the quest

Grover proves that he is a real friend to Percy. For example, during the battle between Percy and Ares, Grover supports Percy throughout the conflict.

Grover helps Percy throughout the entire quest. Grover brings comfort to Percy on the quest and he helps Percy to be brave
