Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

(x2 - y2)2 + (2xy)2 = (x2 + y2)2

1.   Let x = 2 and y = 1 .

2. x must be greater than y

- as the sides of a triangle must be positive.

We can enter any positive integer values for x and y as long as x > y because we are dealing with an identity.

3. Then substituting,  we have

(2^2 - 1^2)^2 + (2*2*1)^2 = (2^2 + 1^2)^2

3^2 + 4^2 = 5^2

9 + 16 = 25

25=25

So the triple is 3,4 and 5.

4. At least one leg must be even because one term (2xy) must be even - multiplying by 2 always gives an even value.

77julia77 [94]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The correct question is

Zena needs a salesperson. Salesperson A is offering his services for an initial $50 in addition to $5 per hour. salesperson B is offering her services for an initial $40 in addition to $7 per hour. When will the two coaches charge the same amount of money?

Let

x ----> the number of hours

y ----> the total charge

we know that

Salesperson A

------> equation A

Salesperson B

------> equation B

To find out when the two coaches charge the same amount of money, equate equation A and equation B and solve for x

7x+40=5x+50

7x-5x=50-40

2x=10

x=5 hours i think just im not sure but i tried

Gwar [14]

Answer:

Number 3

Step-by-step explanation:

The reason this is so is because he is looking for the amount of peaches he can buy. The equation that is number one represents that because it say 3.18 + 1.19p ≤ 10.00 showing that he wants an amount of peaches that costs less than 10.00. 1.19p standing for the amount of peaches and 3.18 representing the pomegranates.

Pythagoras theorem: leg 1 squared + leg 2 squared = hypotenuse squared

In the diagram, the triangle has angles 90 and 45. So the other angle in the triangle must be 45 degrees as well. (180 - 90 -45 = 45)

This means it is an isosceles triangle (since two angles are the same), so the two legs have the same length.

So we can say that length of leg1 = x, and the length of leg2 also equals x

Now let's use pythagoras' theorem:

leg1 = x

leg2 = x

hypotenuse = 16

x^2 + x^2 = 16^2

      2x^2 = 16^2

      2x^2  = 256

        x^2 = 128

        x = √(128)

        x = 8√2
