Mental health

1. Learn how to deal with stress: Like it or not, stress is a part of life. Practice good coping skills: Try One-Minute Stress Strategies, do Tai Chi, exercise, take a nature walk, play with your pet or try journal writing as a stress reducer.

2. Quite your mind: Try meditating, Mindfulness and/or prayer. Relaxation exercises and prayer can improve your state of mind and outlook on life.  

3. Take care of your body: Taking care of yourself physically can improve your mental health. Be sure to:

Eat nutritious meals, Avoid cigarettes, Drink plenty of water etc.

Physical health

1. Exercise regularly: Take a walk, ride a bike, or jog around the neighborhood. During inclement weather, head to the local mall or exercise at home.

2. Get a goodnight sleep: Sleep allows the body to restore itself, cells to repair themselves, and the brain to reboot. Seven or eight hours each night should do the trick.

3. Drink more water and fewer sugary drinks: Staying properly hydrated helps the body's cells to function more efficiently. Cutting back on sugary drinks is good for your dental health, your weight, and your budget.

Physical fitness

1. Balance: exercises can make it easier to walk on uneven surfaces and help prevent falls. To improve your balance, try tai chi or exercises like standing on one leg

2. Flexibility: exercises stretch your muscles and can help your body stay limber. Yoga and doing various stretches can make you more flexible.

3. Strength, or resistance training: exercises make your muscles stronger. Some examples are lifting weights and using a resistance band.
