I think it changes for when the southern people get most of their delegates or maybe when there's most issues going on in the houses of representatives.

California declared its independence in June 1846, and became a very short-lived California Republic until July. The News that did not reach California then was that of the developments of the Mexican-American War. California did not want to remain a part of Mexico, as it felt neglected by it. However, they did not know that US Congress had already declared war on Mexico on May 13, because at that time there were no efficient means of communication on the continent.

Society encourages conformity by setting trends and standards that if you don't meet them you are outcast and looked down upon. Take for example sexuality not long ago if you weren't heterosexual you were seen as less and encouraged to change to fit in. Another example is school. If you don't do things popular kids do or pressure you to do you are "punished" one way or another.. Also take slavery for example. If the slaves didn't conform and follow directions perfectly and correctly when they were told they were beaten. Slaves were beaten in to submission. Slavery is a good example to use because everybody knows about slavery.
