Answer:

12 hours

Step-by-step explanation:

In 1 hour jack mows 1/4 of the lawn

Together they mow half a lawn in 1.5 hours

Which is a whole lawn in 3 hours

in one hour together they mow 1/3 of the lawn

It takes Jill x hours to mow the lawn

in one hour Jill mows 1/x of the lawn

Working together in one hour

jack + jill = together

1/4 + 1/x = 1/3

1/x = 1/3 - 1/4

1/x = 4/12 - 3/12

1/x = 1/12

Cross multiply

12 = x

It takes Jill 12 hours to mow the lawn

What is the best description of the acceleration of an object?
shtirl [24]

Answer:

A car's velocity changes from 25 m/s to 20 m/s in 5 seconds.

Step-by-step explanation:

By definition, Acceleration is the rate of change of Velocity of an object.

I.e it is the( final velocity minus initial velocity ) ÷  by the time it took for the velocity to change.

If we observe the choices only one choice gives us all 3 components (final velocity, initial velocity, time taken for velocity to change), which is :

A car's velocity changes from 25 m/s to 20 m/s in 5 seconds.

Please tell the answer
katen-ka-za [31]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The person I sent it to couldn't see it either. I'm going to take a chance and say the Chord (AB) and the Tangent line form a 50 degree angle. If this is incorrect, I won't know, from the diagram, what else to try.

If I'm right then <OAB = 40 degrees because 90 - 50 = 40 because <AOC is a right angle (property of radii and tangents).

<ABO also = 40 (the triangle is isosceles by two legs being radii).

That means that BOA = 180 - 40 - 40 = 100

Use the relationships in the diagram below to write an equation and solve for X
Firlakuza [10]
A. x^2 + b^2 = c^2
    x^2 + 18^2 = 30^2
    x^2 + 324 = 900
    x^2 = 900 - 324
    x^2 = 576
    x = sqrt 576
    x = 24 <===

b. (2x + 20) + (2x) + (x) + (3x + 20) = 360
     8x + 40 = 360
     8x = 360 - 40
     8x = 320
     x = 320/8
     x = 40

2x + 20 = 2(40) + 20 = 80 + 20 = 100
2x = 2(40) = 80
3x + 20 = 3(40) + 20 = 120 + 20 = 140

A student received an 82% on an exam. If there were 50 questions on the exam, which ratio would show the number of questions ans
solmaris [256]
Hello!

To solve this we have to find what 82% of 50 is

So we do 50 * 0.82 where 0.82 is 82% as a decimal.

This gives us 41

So the answer is D

Hope this helps!
