Answer: 0.34

Explanation: First, you add all of the probabilities together to find the total probability when Dr. Green is missing. (You will get 0.66.) Next, you will need to subtract this from 1.00. 1 - 0.66 = 0.34. 0.34 is your final answer.

Answer:

0.34

Step-by-step explanation:

0.25 + 0.17 + 0.21 + 0.03 = 0.66

1 - 0.66 = 0.34

A physical education teacher wanted to test whether her county’s students are falling below the national proportion. It is known
Ipatiy [6.2K]

Answer:

(a) The population parameter is students who ran the mile in less than 10 minutes.

(b) The hypothesis being tested is:

H0: p = 0.70

Ha: p < 0.70

(c) The significance level is 0.05.

(d) In order to conduct a one-sample proportion z-test, the following conditions should be met:

The data are a simple random sample from the population of interest.

The population is at least 10 times as large as the sample.

n⋅p ≥ 10 and n⋅(1−p) ≥ 10, where n is the sample size and p is the true population proportion.

n⋅p = 756 * 0.70 ≥ 10

n⋅(1−p) = 756 * (1 - 0.70) ≥ 10

All the conditions are met.

(e) p = 504/756 = 0.67

The test statistic, z = (p - p)/√p(1-p)/n = (0.67 - 0.70)/√0.70(1-0.70)/756 = -2.00

(f) The p-value is 0.0228.

(g) Since the p-value (0.0228) is less than the significance level (0.05), we can reject the null hypothesis.

(h) Therefore, we can conclude that less than 70% of students run one mile in less than 10 minutes.

I want to run 4 1/2 miles tonight. If I know running around my block is 3/5 of a mile, how many times should I run around the bl
sukhopar [10]
3/5 block mile is also 0.6 block mile
4 1/2 miles is also 4.5 miles

How many 0.6mi blocks do you run to run 4.5 miles?

4.5miles/0.6block mi = 7.5 or 7 1/2 blocks will equal 4.5 or 4 1/2 miles.

Check 7.5 blocks x 0.6 block mi = 4.5 miles

Same as you know one quarter equals $0.25 cent. And how many do you need to make one dollar that equals $1.00 ?

1/ .25 = 4 quarters

It'd be easier to do #18 if y ou were to break it up:

                                                        14* (first term + 14th term)
Sum from n=1 to 14 of n =  S      = ---------------------------------
                                               14                       2

     14(1+14)
= ---------------- = 7(15) = 105
           2

The sum of twice that is 210.  The sum of "1 from n=1 to n=14" is just 14.

The final sum is 210 + 14 = 224 (answer)
