The Stonewall riots were a riots of the members of the gay community against the police raid, in Manhattan in 1969. 

So let's check the sodomy laws in 1969: Sodomy was banned in every state until 1962, when Illinois adopted the recommendation of the Model penal code to change this law. The next state was Connecticut in 1972, so in 1969 all states except Illinois had anti-sodomy laws!!! (that's 49 states)
