Answer:

A

Step-y-step explanation:

all straight lines equal 180, half of 360 which would be a circle. 10 times 4 equals 40 and you add the two angles together to get 180.

I can answer now yay

Answer:

x = 4

Step-by-step explanation:

The two angles are supplementary because they add up to 180. We know this because both angles lie on a line, which makes a straight angle.  so we can make the equation and solve using algebra

180 = 10x + 140         subtract 140 from both sides

-140          -140

40 = 10x                  divide each side by 10

/10    /10

4 = x  or x = 4

Help! Write the equation of the line parallel to the given line that passes through the given point in slope intercept form! *ig
Kay [80]

First let's get the equation 2x - y = -4 into slope intercept form. To do this first subtract 2x to both sides:

2x - 2x - y = -4 - 2x

0 - y = -4 - 2x

-y = -4 - 2x

Y still isn't completely isolated, it still has the negative attached to it. To get rid of the negative divide both sides by -1

-y / -1 = (-4 - 2x) / -1

y = 4 + 2x

y = 2x + 4

slope intercept formula is:

y = mx + b

m is the slope

b is the y-intercept

For a line that is parallel to y = 2x + 4 and passes through point (2, 5) you will need to have the same slope (2)

This is the formula we know so far for the line parallel to y = 2x + 4:

y = 2x + b

Now we must find b

To do that you must plug in the point the line goes through  ( 2, 5) in the x and y of the equation.

5 = 2(2) + b

5 = 4 + b

Now solve for b by subtracting 4 to both sides

1 = b

y = 2x + 1

^^^This line is parallel to 2x - y = -4 and goes through the point (2, 5)

Hope this helped!
