Consider two events such that P(A)=3/4, P(B)=2/5 and P(AnB)=1/3. Are the events A and B independent?

If P(A) times P(B) is equal to P(A n B), then that shows the events are independent. Otherwise, they are dependent. When I write "A n B", I mean "A intersect B". The intersect symbol looks similar to the lowercase letter n.

P(A)*P(B) = (3/4)*(2/5) = (3*2)/(4*5) = 6/20 = 3/10

Since that result is not the same as P(A n B) = 1/3, this means that the events are not independent. They are dependent events. The answer is choice D

Find the determinant of the following matrix. [1 -2] [3 4]
Andrew [12]

Answer:

10

Step-by-step explanation:

[1 -2]

[3 4]

We can obtain the determinant of the above matrix by doing the following:

Determinant =(1 × 4) – (3 × –2)

Determinant = 4 – – 6

Determinant = 4 + 6

Determinant = 10

Thus, the determinant of the above matrix is 10

Graph the function <br> y=4(2^x+3)-1<br> and <br> y=-2(3^x-4)+1
kondaur [170]

The graphs of the functions y = 4(2ˣ + 3) - 1 and y = - 2(3ˣ - 4) + 1 are plotted on the graph.

<h3>What is function?</h3>

A function is a relation between a dependent and a independent variable, such that the dependent variable depends upon the independent one for its existence.

Given are the following functions -

y = 4(2ˣ + 3) - 1

y = - 2(3ˣ - 4) + 1

We have the following functions -

y = 4(2ˣ + 3) - 1

y = - 2(3ˣ - 4) + 1

Refer to the graph attached. The graph of red color represents the function y = 4(2ˣ + 3) - 1 and the graph of blue color represents the function y = - 2(3ˣ - 4) + 1. It can be seen that the graphs are symmetrical about the line y = 10.

Therefore, the graphs of the functions y = 4(2ˣ + 3) - 1 and y = - 2(3ˣ - 4) + 1 are plotted on the graph.

30. Tina went to batting cages with $20. She rented a bat for $3. 25 and
aliya0001 [1]

Answer:

5

Step-by-step explanation:

Tina started with $20, but had to spend $3.25 on the bat.

$20-$3.25 = $16.75, which is all she has left for rounds.

Each round costs $3.00

$16.75 divided by $3.00 comes out to 5.58 rounds, but since she can't play 1/2 a round, that means she could only play 5 rounds

5 rounds X $3.00 per round comes to $15.00
