A local food truck specializes in gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches. Each month, the owners of the truck have a constant total o

f $5,400 in expenses (salaries, truck loan, etc.) and it costs $2.25 per sandwich to make each sandwich. The food truck sells its sandwiches for $9.00 each.
a) Write an inequality to represent how many sandwiches, s, the food truck will have to sell each month to earn more money from selling sandwiches than it pays in expenses and sandwich costs.

b) Solve the inequality. Show your steps or explain your answer.

c) To gain more sales, the food truck offers a discount one month of $1.00 off its sandwiches. How many more sandwiches will it need to sell to earn more money from selling sandwiches than it pays in expenses and food costs? Explain your answer, mathematically or in words.

Answer:

A. (9 - 2.25)s ≥ 5,400

B. They will have to sell more than 800 sandwiches per month. I first started by solving the parentheses which is 6.75. Then I divided 5,400 by 6.75 to get 800.

C. It will now end up looking like this: (8 - 2.25)s ≥ 5,400. Then it will be 5.75. Then divide 5,400 by 5.75. Then you end up with 939.13. You have to round up when you are talking about inequalities with money so it will be 940. So they will have to sell 140 more sandwiches during that month.

I need help with this. Both Standard Deviation and the Mean. Both have answer choices of Decrease, Increase, or stay the same.
almond37 [142]

Answer:

The mean will stay the same.

The standard deviation will decrease.

Step-by-step explanation:

For the 5 cards, she has received, the mean will be:

μ=(∑x)/n

=125/5

=25

The mean is 25 and the standard deviation is 10.

σ=10

If a new card is received with $25, then the sum will be $150

So the new mean will be:

μ'=(∑x)/n

=150/6

=25

And the new standard deviation will be:

σ'= 9.12

We can clearly see that

μ= μ'

and

σ> σ'

So the mean will remain the same and standard deviation will decrease. .

PLZ HELP NEED THIS REAL FAST DIS QUESTION HARD ILL GIVE 10 POINTS Jaquenline and her four friends went to the the fair. JaQuenli
ki77a [65]

Answer:

d.   5(x + 6) = 47.50

Step-by-step explanation:

First, determine the number of girls; (4 friends + Jacquenline) making a total of 5 girls.

If a ticket costs $6, then the the 5 girls' tickets would cost= 5*6

Also, if a funnel cake costs $x , then 5 girls' cakes would cost= 5* x

Total cost of funnel cake and entry tickets = $47.50

Now make the above three into an equation;

(5*x) + (5*6) = 47.50

5 is the common number on the left side so it becomes;

5( x +6) =47.50

Find the value of x.
allsm [11]

Answer:

3 \sqrt{5}

Step-by-step explanation:

x is the center of the circle.

the chord of length 12 can be splitted into two parts of 6 length each.

since the radius does not change when it touches another end of the circle, we can safely calculate our radius to be the hypotenuse of the triangle formed by the length of the chord and 3.

The explanation is given in the picture
