The decision in 1950 by the Supreme Court that banned “separate but equal” law schools in Texas
Katyanochek1 [597]

In the case Sweatt V. Painter in 1950, the Supreme Court ruled that the racial segregation in schools is unconstitutional and a violation of the fourteenth amendment. This case successfully challenged the doctrine "Separate but Equal" in the Plessy V. Fergusson case. In the state of Louisiana back in 1896, there was a state sponsored segregation of black and white students.

Write a paragraph about the New Deal and how it might have helped.
Vesna [10]

Answer:

here is an old essay on the new deal i did a while ago. (sorry i was against the new deal)

During one of the United States’ biggest economic declines, called the Great Depression, children had to work because their families were extremely poor. This occurred in the 1930s.  Then Franklin Delano Rosevelt (“FDR”, the president at the time) tried to fix that by creating the New Deal, a collection of programs to get the country out of  recession by creating job programs.

The New Deal was not effective but the real reason we got out of the depression was World War Two (“WW2”).  There are two reasons I believe this: 1) The government jobs were temporary; 2) the taxes increased the price for goods.

Most of FDR’s New Deal programs were temporary.  A great example of this is the CCC was never used again after the depression.  Additionally, the WPA ended in 1943 just a few years before the end of WW2.

The farmers were not making enough money so FDR made a program to help farmers. To do this, the  government told all of the  farmers to exhaust agricultural goods, so farmers could keep up with technology, supply and demand, and increase prices. But on the other hand the average joe couldn't afford food because the supply was low and prices were high.

FDR made programs to help the poorest people of the depression, hence the CCC to get the economy up and running, and helped the average joe by giving them jobs and putting their money back to work. However the CCC could not last forever and WW2 had a greater impact on the economy, because we kickstarted the mass production of guns, bullets, jeeps, and many other warfare items.

The New Deal helped the small minute details of the depression. But the depression was like the hammer fist that fixed everything else.  Because there was so much demand for jobs women worked in the factories and jeeps were getting blown up and the army needed replacement jeeps. Also bullets were constantly getting wasted so we needed people to make more bullets and a demand for everything went up.

The new deal was an attempt to fix the economy and, failed because of taxes overspending and speculation.  The new deal was a desperate attempt to fix the economy but, if it worked we will never know.
