Autotrophs use a process called photosynthesis to make their food. The glucose gives plants energy. Plants also use glucose to make cellulose, a substance they use to grow and build cell walls.

He should use the ocular lens in order to view the high power objective which is placed in the objective lenses. So he needs to use the ocular lens for viewing and the objective lens to magnify and see the specimen clearly on the stage.
