Answer:

y= 1 and x=-2

Step-by-step explanation:

Since they both equal y, you can equal them to each other:

x + 3 = 2x + 5

Then solve:

x - x + 3 = 2x - x + 5

3 - 5 = x + 5 - 5

-2 = x

Substitute x in either equation to solve for y:

y = (-2) +3

y = 1

Or the other equation:

y = 2(-2) + 5

y = -4 + 5

y = 1

hope this helps :)

Sales of 10000 increased by 65% each year write a function that represents the situation
erastovalidia [21]

Answer: y=10000(1.65)^x

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: The sales of 10000 increased by 65% each year .

Let x be the number of years.

The rate of growth=65%= 0.65

The exponential growth function is given by

y=A(1+r)^x

, where A is initial amount and r is the rate of growth in decimal.

Then the increase in the sales id given by :-

y=10000(1+0.65)^x\\\Rightarrow\ y=10000(1.65)^x

The admission fee is $1.50 for children and $4.00 for adults. If 2700 people enter and $7800 is collected how many children and
mash [69]

Number of children attended is 1200 and number of adults attended is 1500

<h3><u>Solution:</u></h3>

Given that,

Admission fee for each children = $ 1.50

Admission fee for each adult = $ 4.00

Let "c" be the number of children attended

Let "a" be the number of adults attended

Given that 2700 people enter and $7800 is collected

Number of children attended + number of adults attended = 2700

c + a = 2700  -------- eqn 1

Also given that $7800 is collected

Number of children attended x Admission fee for each children + number of adults attended x Admission fee for each adult = 7800

c \times 1.50 + a \times 4 = 7800

1.5c + 4a = 7800 -------- eqn 2

Let us solve eqn 1 and eqn 2 to find values of "a" and "c"

From eqn1,

a = 2700 - c ----- eqn 3

Substitute eqn 3 in eqn 2

1.5c + 4(2700 - c) = 7800

1.5c + 10800 - 4c = 7800

-2.5c = -3000

c = 1200

Therefore from eqn 3,

a = 2700 - 1200

a = 1500

Therefore number of children attended = c = 1200

number of adults attended = a = 1500

Kaitlin runs 3 miles in 25 minutes. at the same rate, how many miles would she run in 20 minutes?
inessss [21]
Find out how much she runs in 1 minute.

3/25=0.12 miles in a minute

To find the distance covered in 20 minutes;

(0.12)(20)
=2.4 miles

Hope I helped :)
