Answer:The oxidation number of the carbons + the oxidation numbers of the oxygens must equal -2. Carbons + (-8) = -2 so the oxidation number of the carbons must be +6. Since there are 2 carbon atoms each must contribute +3 each. What is the oxidation number of S in Na2S2O3?

Explanation:

The oxidation state of Oxygen is -2 and that of Calcium is +2. There are four oxygen atoms which amounts to -8 charge. This leaves a charge of +6 on Carbon

Explain how the composition of magma affevt volcano eruptions?
larisa [96]

The kind of magma that is found in the most explosive volcanoes, the composite volcanoes, is andesitic magma. It is magma that is quite high in silica content which makes it thick, sticky and gooey. Great lumps of this sticky magma cool at the top of the volcano to form a sealed cap. Magma beneath the cap builds up and pressure mounts and eventually becomes too much to be contained and the magma violently erupts out from the top, blowing out the cap and shooting miles up into the air and in all directions.

The kind of magma found in gentle volcanoes such as shield volcanoes is runny in consistency. It has very minimal amounts of silica and is not thick but loose. It therefore tends to trickle out of the top of the volcano rather than erupt or explode.

Beer's Law states that A=ebc, where A is the absorbance, ε is the molar absorptivity of the solute, b is the path length, and c
Gelneren [198K]

Answer:

b. changing the compound changes the absorbance behavior.

Explanation:

 • Option a) would be akin to modifying the path length, b.
 • Option b) would involve using a different solute, as such, there would be another molar absortivity, ε.
 • Option c) would decrease the concentration (c) of the solute, which would explain why the absorbance would decrease as well.

A distinct molecular species that is formed in one step of a reaction mechanism and then reacts in a subsequent step is called
Flura [38]

Notice that the oxygen atom produced in the first step of this mechanism is consumed in the second step and therefore does not appear as a product in the overall reaction. Species that are produced in one step and consumed in a subsequent step are called intermediates.

I hope that helps
