Answer:

- 50

Step-by-step explanation:

x = 3

f ( x ) = - 4x^2 - 3x - 5

f ( 3 )

= - 4 ( 3 )^2 - 3 ( 3 ) - 5

= - 4 ( 9 ) - 3 ( 3 ) - 5

= - 36 - 9 - 5

= - 50

4+p over 14 = 1 need help
lukranit [14]

Answer:

p = 10

Step-by-step explanation:

In order to solve an equation we must isolate the variable we're solving for, p.

We can do this by undoing operations in the equation.

First, multiply both sides of the equation by 14.

\frac{4+p}{14} * 14 = 1 *14

This gives you 4 + p = 14

Then, you can subtract 4 from both sides:

4 - 4 + p = 14 - 4

p = 10

The solutions to the inequality y > −3x + 2 are shaded on the graph. Which point is a solution? (0, 2) (2, 0) (1, −2) (−2, 1)
Brilliant_brown [7]

Answer:

(2,0)

Step-by-step explanation:

The solution of the inequality y>-3x+2 is shown in attached diagram.

The boundary line is dotted line, because the sign of inequality is without notion "or equal to". The dotted line means that points lying on this line are not solutions of the inequality. The solutions are those points lying in the shaded region.

From the points (0,2), (2,0), (1,-2), (-2,1) only point (2,0) lies on the shaded region, so only point (2,0) is a solution to the inequality

13x = 79 ? Can somebody explain #9 b. PLEASE. Please solve using the system of linear equations by elimination.I would love it i

8x + 2y = 44
5x + 2y = 35

Since 2y is already common, there is no need for multiplication. Just reverse the signs on the equation.

Like this;

8x + 2y = 44
-5x - 2y = -35

All the additions become subtractions and vice versa.

-2y and +2y get cancelled.

Leaving;

8x = 44
-5x = -35

Now, subtract again.

8x - 5x = 3x

44 - 35 = 9

So;

3x = 9

x = 9 / 3

x = 3

We found 'x' and now we have to find 'y'.

Just substitute.

[8 x 3] + 2y = 44

24 + 2y = 44

2y = 44 - 24

2y = 20

y = 20 / 2

y = 10

Now, we re-check;

[8 x 3] + [2 x 10] = 44

24 + 20 = 44

Explaining the error for #9b is simply doing the whole sum.

Hope this helped! :) I tried my best to explain.
