For a necklace.
There are x wooden beads at $0.50 each.
There are 6 glass beads at $1.25 each

Therefore the cost of the beads in a necklace is
0.50x + 6*1.25 = 0.5x + 7.5 dollars

There are (x+6) beads. Because the average cost of the beads is $0.75, therefore
\frac{0.5x+7.5}{x+6} =0.75 \\\\ 0.5x+7.5=0.75(x+6)

The solution for x may be obtained as follows:
0.5x + 7.5 = 0.75x + 4.5
-0.25x = -3
x = -3/-0.25 = 12

Answer:
The equation to find x is
(0.5x + 7.5) = 0.75(x + 6)

Harshini rode her bicycle 13.76 kilometers on Monday, 9.8 kilometers on Wednesday, and 16.415 kilometers on Friday.
rusak2 [61]

Answer:

The last method (Round 13.76 to 14, round 9.8 to 10, and round 16.415 to 16; since 14 + 10 + 16 = 40 and 40 is close to 39.975, her  answer is reasonable.)

Step-by-step explanation:

Option 1 is unreasonable because removing the decimal points just changes the whole problem and claims that Harshini rode her bike 1376 kilometers on Monday and etc., which she did not. Option 2 is unreasonable because not all the numbers are near 20 and should be rounded to their nearest whole numbers instead to find a more accurate estimate. Option 3 is unreasonable for the same reason as option 2, the numbers should be rounded to their nearest whole numbers instead to find a more accurate estimate. Option 4 is reasonable because the numbers are rounded to the nearest whole numbers which makes the estimate more accurate.

Bridgette made a graph of her neighborhood on a coordinate grid. The points A(-2, 3), B(-2, -2), C(2, -2), and D(2, 3) represent
vodka [1.7K]

Answer:

\boxed{\text{18 blocks}}

Step-by-step explanation:

Distance travelled on graph = AB + BC + CD + DA

AB = CD  = (3 +2) = 5

BC = AD = 2 –(-2) = 4

Distance on graph = 2 × 5 + 2 × 4 = 10 + 8 = 18 spaces = 18 blocks

Bridgette jogs \boxed{\textbf{18 blocks}}each day.
