Imagine looking through a microscope at a squashed onion root tip. The chromosomes of many of the cells are plainly visible. In
SIZIF [17.4K]

Answer:

D) metaphase

Explanation:

Mitosis is a type of cell division in which the cell divides its replicated chromosome in equal amount in two daughter cells. Mitosis takes place in four phases: Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase and Telophase.

Metaphase is the stage of the cell division during which the chromosome is present in the highly condensed form present in the centre of the cell. The chromosomes are aligned at the equator of the cell.

Thus, metaphase is the correct answer.

Kapoor 2014. Effect of orthodontic forces on cytokine and receptor levels in gingival crevicular fluid: A systematic review.
Alchen [17]

The publication about the effect of orthodontic forces on cytokine and receptor levels in gingival fluid investigates how this treatment can increase inflammation.

<h3>What are cytokines?</h3>

Cytokines are molecules of the immune system that act during different types of immune responses, especially in inflammatory pathways.

Cytokines are mainly secreted by helper T immune cells (T cells) and macrophages.

In this case, the publication above mentioned uses different cytokine biomarkers to test inflammatory responses after orthodontic treatment (e.g., IL-1β, TNF-α, IL-8, etc).

In conclusion, the publication about the effect of orthodontic forces on cytokine and receptor levels in gingival fluid investigates how this treatment can increase inflammation.

How does the precision of measurements affect the precision of scientific calculations?
juin [17]
<span>The precision of scientific calculations is limited by the measurement that's the least precise out of all the measurements used in the calculation. When considering significant figures, the last answer should have the least significant figures out of all the measurements that entered into account and were able to be done with the most significant figures that could be directly measured. So, as more precise we are in measurements, more precise can be the final answer to a scientific calculation.</span>

___ 1. When the combined effect of two drugs, each producing the same biological response by the same mechanism of action, is eq
Valentin [98]

Answer:

Additive effects

Explanation:

In pharmacology, sometimes more than one drug is used to treat a disorder. The two or more drugs are used as they treat the disease more effectively than they treat the disorder independently.  The two drugs interact in one of the two ways: the additive effect and the synergistic effect.

In the given question, the drugs when combined produce the sum of the drugs equal to the effect shown by the drugs individually therefore the effect of the drug is added. This type of drug interaction is known as the additive effect.

Thus, Additive effect is the correct answer.

Describe all muscle tissues, including cell shape, layers, intercellular connections,
zmey [24]
<h2>Description of muscle tissues. </h2>

Explanation:

There are three types of muscle tissue are cardiac, smooth, and skeletal.

1. <u>Cardiac muscle tissue:</u><u> </u>It is located in the walls of the heart.

They appear striated.

Control is involuntary.

Function: To pump blood through the blood vessels in your body.

2. <u>Smooth muscle tissue:</u><u> </u>It is located in walls of hollow visceral organs, except the heart.

They appear spindle-shaped.

Control is involuntary.

Function: To move food through the digestive tract.

To regulates air flow in lungs.

3. <u>Skeletal muscle tissue:</u> It occur in muscles which are attached to the skeleton.

They appear striated.

Control is voluntary.

Function: To support the body.

It makes bones and other body parts move.

<u>Cell shape :</u> There are different shapes of cells which are as follows:

1. Squamous 2.Cuboidal 3. Columnar 4. Polygonal  5. Stellate

6. Spheroid 7. Discoid 8. Fusiform 9. Fibrous.

<u>Muscular layer:</u> The muscular layer is present in many organs in the vertebrate body.

It is responsible for peristaltic movement in body.

There are two layers of muscle.

1. Inner 2. Outer layer.

<u>Inner layer:</u> The muscle of the inner layer is arranged in circular rings around the tract.

<u>Outer layer:</u> the muscle of the outer layer is arranged longitudinally.

<u>Intercellular connections or junctions: </u>These are the structures which provide adhesion and communication between cells.

There are mainly three types of junctions:

1. <u>Tight junctions: </u><u> </u>It help to stop substances  from leaking across a tissue.

2. <u>Adhering junctions:</u> It perform the  function of cementing so as to  keep neighbouring cells together.

3. <u>Gap junctions:</u> It facilitate the cells to  communicate with each other by connecting the cytoplasm of adjoining  cells, for rapid transfer of ions, small molecules and sometimes big molecules.
