x = 7.5° and y = 75°

Solution:

ΔMNO is equilateral triangle.

Each angle in equilateral triangle is 60°.

⇒ m∠MNO = 60°

⇒ 2x° + 4x° + 2x° = 60°

⇒ 8x° = 60°

Divide by 8 on both sides.

⇒ x° = 7.5°

In the 2 triangles which contain NM , NO and angles 2x° , 2x°

MN = ON ⇒ equilateral triangle

∵ 2x° = 2x° = 15°

m∠M = m∠O = 60° ⇒ equilateral triangle

∴ The two triangles are congruent.

The third angles in the two triangles are equal and their measure is

180 – (60 + 15) = 105°

105 + y° = 180 ⇒ straight angle

y° = 180 – 105 = 75°

y° = 75°

Hence x = 7.5° and y = 75°.

Isosceles trapezoid ABCD has legs If AB = 6y – 3, BC = 4y – 5, and CD = 7y – 18, find the value of y
castortr0y [4]

Answer:

The value of y is y=15

Step-by-step explanation:

We have:

AB = 6y – 3, BC = 4y – 5, and CD = 7y – 18

We define the isosceles trapezoid as it has two opposites parallel, the two other opposites legs are equal and also the diagonals are equal.

Here AB = CD

6y-3 = 7y-18

Combine the like terms:

18-3 = 7y-6y

15 = y

It means the value of y is y=15....

Choose the equation below that represents the line passing through the point (1, −4) with a slope of one half . (1 point)
bixtya [17]
3rd one
Reason:
Point slope formula: y-y1=m(x-x1)
y1=-4
x1=1
m=1/2
Put it all together and you get a final answer of:
y-(-4)=1/2(x-1)
two negatives make one positive
so,
final answer:y+4=1/2(x-1)
