1. How did the Boston Sons of Liberty show their opposition in 1773? 2. Why do you think they decided to destroy the tea? 3.What
MakcuM [25]

Answer:

Find the explanation below.

Explanation:

1. The Boston Sons of Liberty showed their opposition on December 16, 1773, when they threw tea being brought into the American colonies by the British East India Company overboard the sea. The event is known as the Boston Tea Party and it was a result of the Tea Act passed by the British Parliament who gave their company the monopoly to import tea to the colonies.

2. I think that they decided to destroy the tea because if it got to the American colonies, they would be bought by people and this would affect the sales of tea by the American traders who sourced their tea from the Dutch. The taxes imposed on this tea as well as the monopoly that was granted to the British East India Company would also have negative consequences on the economy of the colonists.

3. They might have allowed the tea to land and then explain to the people reasons why they should boycott it. I do not think that this would have been effective because some people would have still found a way to buy the tea once it was within their reach.

4. Activism, lobbying, dialogue with the appropriate authorities, and peaceful protests should be the best routes to consider in countering laws perceived as unjust by the American citizenry.

According to research by Taylor and her colleagues (1984), __________ is likely to reduce stress related to a negative life even
Elenna [48]

According to research by Taylor and her colleagues (1984), perceived control is likely to reduce stress related to a negative life event such as cancer.

Explanation:

Shelley Taylor and her colleagues contributed to the effects of perceived control in the treatment of cancer.

Perceived control is the feeling or a belief by a person which determines his/her own inner state or behavior and influence and modify his/her or one’s own environment in order to bring about the desired outcome.

In the treatment of cancer, perceived control of behavior acts as a control strategy to deal with the immense amount of stress it causes to a person. This provides emotional well being and stability by enhancing the ability and preparing a person to cope up with the stress.

This in turn makes him/her to be mentally strong to bear the stress, feel less pain, and to be supportive with the treatment. This also reduces the impact of stress on physiological parameters like blood pressure, heart rate etc and improves the overall health of the patient.

Perceived control can also be used to cope with stress induced by negative life events like loss of someone dear, joblessness, marital or relational issues, chronic diseases etc
