The slope:

m=\dfrac{\Delta y}{\Delta x}

Look at the picture.

6 units down → -6

2 units right → 2

m=\dfrac{-6}{2}=-3

<h3>Answer: Slope = m = -3</h3>

<u>answer:</u>  \frac{3}{-1} x

<u>explanation:</u>

slope-intercept formula ==> y = mx + b

m is slope , and b is y-intercept

to find the slope you need to start at the y intercept and go 3 units up and 1 unit left. and if you repeat it again, until you reach the top of the graph and that would make partial of the line.

so, the slope is \frac{rise}{run}, so if you plug it in it would look like this

y = \frac{3}{-1} x + b

A D D I T I O N A L  I N F O

then you find the y-intercept which would be where the line intersects at the y axis, which is -10. plug the number into the equation

y = \frac{3}{-1} x - 10

and that would make our final answer.

hope this helps! correct me if there is anything wrong ❤ from peachimin

I am having difficulties solving this problem someone pls help.
igor_vitrenko [27]

Answer:

Each time, the x is being multiplied by -3 to result in the output.

So for every x input, multiply by -3.

For the y output for 15, you would divide by -3 to find the input x

For example, when 7 is the input, multiply by -3, and the output y would result in -21.

Answer:

the solution set consists of {x < -2 ∪ x > 10/3}

Step-by-step explanation:

|3x - 2| > 8 is equivalent to the following set of inequalities:

1) 3x - 2 > 8

and

2) -(3x - 2) > 8

In case 1, above, add 2 to both sides, obtaining 3x > 10, or x > 10/3.

In case 2, above, carry out the indicated multiplication first:

-3x + 2 > 8.  Next, subtract 2 from both sides:  -3x > 6.

Next, divide both sides by -3, remembering to reverse the direction of the inequality sign:  x < -2.

Thus, the solution set consists of {x < -2 ∪ x > 10/3}

A 6-ounce bag of raisins costs $2.46.An 8-ounce bag of raisins costs $3.20.Which is the better deal?
GenaCL600 [577]
So we need to compare them at the sam ounches

find the least common multiple (the smallest number that they will both multiply into)

first find the factors and group them all together, delete any repeats

6=2*3
8=2*2*2

least common multiple=2*2*2*3=24

so 6 bags=2.46
multiply by 4 to get 24
24 bags=9.84

so 8 bags=3.20
multply by 3
24 bags=9.60

9.84>9.60 so

the 8 ounce bag is less expensive
