The perimeter of a polygon or any shape is just the sum of all of its sides. If you are asked to find the perimeter of a polygon, you would simply just add all the sides together. For example, if a square has 4 sides with the length 2m, the perimeter of that square would be 2m + 2m + 2m + 2m = 8m. Perimeter just means add all the sides.

Total cards in a deck=52
Face cards =12
So probability of picking a face card is 12/52=3/13

E. -2(a-8)how do you do this question?
Anton [14]

Answer: -2a + 16

Step-by-step explanation:

You must do the distributive property. Since "a-8" is in the parenthesis and -2 is outside the parenthesis, you must multiply -2 by (a-8). -2 multiplied by a will equal 2a since you don't know what variable a equals. Next, you multiply -2 and -8 which would equal positive 16. The reason why it is positive is because 2 negative numbers multiplied or divided would equal a positive number. Thus, the answer is -2a + 16.

Set up a triple integral in spherical coordinates to compute the volume of the region inside the sphere x² + y² + z² = 4 and abo
Mademuasel [1]

The plane meets the sphere in the cylinder

z=1 \implies x^2+y^2+1^2 = 4 \implies x^2+y^2 = 3 = \left(\sqrt3\right)^2

In spherical coordinates, the plane has equation

z = \rho\cos(\phi) = 1 \implies \rho = \sec(\phi)

and since

\begin{cases}x = \rho\cos(\theta)\sin(\phi) \\ y=\rho\sin(\theta)\sin(\phi)\end{cases} \implies x^2+y^2 = \rho^2 \sin^2(\phi)

the cylinder has equation

\rho^2 \sin^2(\phi) = 3 \implies \rho = \sqrt3 \, \csc(\phi)

The plane and cylinder thus meet when

\sec(\phi) = \sqrt3\,\csc(\phi) \implies \tan(\phi) = \sqrt3 \implies \phi = \dfrac\pi3

So, the volume of the region is given by

\displaystyle \boxed{\int_0^{2\pi} \int_0^{\pi/3} \int_{\sec(\phi)}^2 \rho^2 \sin(\phi) \, d\rho \, d\phi \, d\theta}
