Answer:

c = 10

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that H varies directly as c³ then the equation relating them is

H = kc³ ← k is the constant of variation

To find k use the condition when H = 40, c = 2 , then

40 = k × 2³ = 8k ( divide both sides by 8 )

5 = k

H = 5c³ ← equation of variation

When H = 5 000, then

5000 = 5c³ ( divide both sides by 5 )

1000 = c³ ( take the cube root of both sides )

\sqrt[3]{1000} = c , so

c = 10

for two positive integers a and b, we know g c d (a comma b )equals 15 comma space l c m (a comma b )equals 90, what is a b?
Scilla [17]

Two positive integers have gcd (a, b) = 15 and lcm (a, b) = 90. Those two numbers are 15 and 90 or 30 and 45.

Suppose we have 2 positive integers, a and b, then:

gcd (a, b) = the greatest common divisor = common prime factors of a and b

lcm (a, b) = the least common multiple = multiplication of the greatest common prime factors of a and b

In the given problem:

gcd (a, b) = 15

prime factorization of 15:

15 = 3 x 5

Hence,

a = 3 x 5 x ....

b = 3 x 5 x ....

lcm (a, b) = 90

prime factorization of 90:

90 = 3 x 5 x 2 x 3

Therefore the possible pairs of a and b are:

Combination 1:

a = 3 x 5 = 15

b = 3 x 5 x 2 x 3 = 90

Combination 2:

a = 3 x 5 x 2 = 30

b = 3 x 5 x 3 = 35

We can conclude the two integers are 15 and 90 or 30 and 45.

The difference of two complementary angles is 48. Find the measures of the two angles.
Furkat [3]

The larger angle is 55 deg at the larger angle.

We have to know which angles are called Complementary Angles...

if we add two angles and the total will be equal to 90 deg

let's say one angle is x and  another angle is  y

as they are complementary angles from the definition we can write the equation x + y =  90

one angle is 20 deg more  than another one  so from the above condition  we write x = 20 + y

Substitute the value of x  in the first eaquation we get, 20 + y + y =  90

Then,  20 + 2y =  90

subtracting 20 from both sides,

 2y  =  90-20 = 70

 dividing both sides by 2,

2y/ 2 = 70 / 2

 y  =  35

 So we got one angle is 35 deg

another angle is  35 + 20 = 55 deg.

Our answer is 55 deg the larger angle.
