Hello!

X and Y intercepts are found when graphing an equation. You know the X and Y intercepts by when a point crosses the X axis, and for the Y intercept, when a point crosses the Y axis.

First off we must simplify the equation.

4y + 12 = -2x - 12

Here is the photo of the graph attached.

By looking at the graph we can see the answer is...

X intercept = (-12,0)
Y intercept = (0,-6)

if a frog can move 1/4 of a mile every hour, then how many hours would it take for a frog to go 2 miles?
ANTONII [103]

Answer: 8 hours

Step-by-step explanation: If a frog can jump 1/4 fourth a mile every hour then it will take 4 hours to complete a mile. But because we are talking a bout 2 miles, you have to double the time. Therefore, the answer is 8 hours

A line passes through the point (8, -1) and has a slope of -5/4
Annette [7]

Answer:

y = -5/4x +27/4

Step-by-step explanation:

"A line passes through the point (8, -1) and has a slope of -5/4 "

I'm guessing you want to formulate an equation.

To do that, we use the Slope-Intercept Form, y = mx + b, where m is the slope, and b is the y- intercept.

Since we know the slope, we can substitute -5/4 for slope.

y = -5/4x + b

To Find B, we will substitute the ordered pair (8,-1) as x and y.

8= -5/4(-1) + b

8 = 5/4 + b

Subtract 5/4 from both sides.

8-5/4 = 5/4-5/4 + b

27/4 = b

Substitute 27/4 as b in the equations.

y = -5/4x + 27/4

What is the yintercept of the graph of the equation y = 2(4*)?
uranmaximum [27]

Answer:

\boxed {\boxed {\sf C. \ (0,2)}}

Step-by-step explanation:

The y-intercept of a graph occurs when the function cross the y or vertical axis. This is also where x is equal to 0.

Therefore, we can substitute 0 in for x and solve for y.

y= 2(4^x)

y= 2(4^0)

Solve according to PEMDAS: Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication, Division, Addition, Subtraction.

Solve the exponent. Any number raised to the power of 0 is equal to 1.

y= 2(1)

Multiply.

y=2

The y-intercept is 2. So, when x=0, y=2.

Coordinate points are written as (x, y). The y-intercept is (0,2).
